Guys & gals, it's good to finally be back! After having my internal modem fried by a freak outage, I got some new software and hardware which have allowed me to return. Of course, there may be some that wish that this Luddite was back in the hinterlands. C'est la vie!

Glad you're back, James. The blog world's a colder, darker place without you. Of course, your return also means that I've got to polish my dictionary reference skills once more.
Of course, you ARE quite still in the hinterlands, as Hoguerridor is hardly Lower Manhattan, but the point is well taken, and C'est la vie to you as well. Marshal Petain couldn't say it any better. Such is life, and it is what it is, no matter how horrible or unjust. (Gallic shrug)
You are also to be commended on continuing to resist the temptation to moralize. Keep on giving the "street report" complete with as many shocking details as need be. Such is life, after all.

George, you are right that Point Pleasant is pastoral: however, as long as one can get Directv, the Internet, the WSJ, the Economist, etc., it's no Elba.
