Hezbollah v. Israel: Did David Win?
According to Nasrallah and Khatami, Hezbollah won. According to Ohlmert and Bush, Israel did. Lebanon seems to be the only unanimous loser. Who really won?

You're right, J. However, I think that Israel and the U.S. are trying to save face after Hezbollah sent the Israelis back reeling. Regardless of the possible merit of the Israeli strikes, it does seem that Israel used the kidnapping of its two soldiers as a pretext to try to destroy the Hezbollah forces and weapons in the south of Lebanon. Israel's public relations department must have been on holiday because their meting out of punishment to an effete Lebanese government and its citizens looked like a frustrated warrior striking out against innocent parties to the battle.
Israel probably will want to evaluate the situation and see what went wrong before they take that third strike. Israel needs a surer hand at the helm and on the sword.

I predict the ceasefire will be over by Sunday.

Does "David" refer to Israel (as in King David and the rest, etc.) or Hezbollah (as in David and Goliath, etc.)?
Israel and Hezbollah will probably square off again pretty soon, anyway.
